Engineered wood flooring is made up of several layers of wood, in a similar way to laminate flooring, with the top layer being decorative and then the additional layers adding strength to it. It can be installed on top of any kind of floor. Unlike a solid wood floor, however, engineered wood can prevent shrinkage/expansion problems related to moisture due to its engineered construction.
